Bengaluru Torpedoes eye strong start in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Oct 2 (UNI) Bengaluru Torpedoes are set to kick off their Season 4 campaign of the Prime Volleyball League against debutants Goa Guardians at G.M.C Balayogi Indoor Stadium tomorrow. 

USA Universal Jalen Penrose, the 2023 NORCECA Pan Am Final Six gold medaliat, expressed confidence in the squad's readiness and chemistry. 

Skipper Matt West and Olympic champion coach David Lee lead the Torpedoes, who Penrose say's have quickly bonded despite being a mix of domestic and international players, 

The team's amazing... everyone's open to learning. That makes things so much easier and helpe us grow together," he said. 

Penrose, who has played alongside West before, emphasized the value of leadership and experience. "Having someone like David Lee as coach is huge... For me, it's about sharing experiences and learning from the guys here."

Highlighting the team's approach to competition, Penrose added, "Everybody wants in win the most important thing is that we give our best every time we step on the court. If we sh everything as a team, the results will come." 

The Torpedoes will also rely on a talented Indian contingent, including attackers Setha TRand Joel Benjamin J, blocker Mujeeb MC, and experienced libero Midhunkumar Balambramaniyan Bengaluru Torpedoes are in Pool A with Goa Guardians, Chennal Blitz, Kochi Blue Spikers, and Kolkata Thunderbolts. Their league stage concludes against Mumbai Meteors on October 22, with the top four teams progressing to the semifinals. 

 The season opener against Goa Guardians will begin at 6:30 PM IST on October 3 UNI BDN SS
